AMERICAN-NIGERIAN FUSION WEDDING – ADA & KAY

Every once in a while, a couple so stylish comes along that you end up secretly doing the “happy dance”!  Well, that was the case for me after meeting Adannia and Kayode.  This couple was so on-point with their wedding esthetic that I could barely wait for their wedding day to come around.

Join me in reminicing over Ada & Kay’s spectacular day. As an added bonus, Ada and Kay got to double their fun by having not one but TWO weddings – a traditional cultural wedding in Nigeria and their American-Nigerian Fusion Wedding here in Minneapolis, MN.

Thank you to the extremely talented vendors who were a part of this beautiful wedding, and a special thank you to Cadence and Eli Photography for capturing this day to perfection!

Carrying a richly hued bouquet of dahlias, delicate anemones, roses and succulents, Ada was a vision of perfection in her stunning Anne Barge gown. A floor-sweeping veil held in place by a sparkling hair pin along with shimmery Louboutin’s completed her look. Her bridesmaids were clad in floor-length off the shoulder scarlet gowns. They each carried a smaller versions of Ada’s lush bouquet. Kay was equally striking in a custom three-piece tuxedo topped off with a black velour bowtie. His dashing groomsmen, too, donned custom suites, pulled together with navy bowties and a pocket square.

Seeking a traditional church wedding for their big day, Ada and Kay exchanged vows at the magnificent Basilica of Saint Mary.

Following the traditional catholic ceremony, guests departed for the reception to the beautiful Carlson Towers Rotunda. Guest tables were draped with metallic herringbone linens and topped with jewel toned napkins featuring individual guest menus. The elegant place settings also offered personalized honey jars as keepsakes of the special day. Lush flower arrangements were purposefully kept low as to not interfere with conversation.

After the three-course dinner, Ada surprised Kay with a second, stunning form fitting strapless silk trumpet wedding gown designed by Matthew Christopher. Making another grand entrance into the rotunda, Ada and Kay made their way to the beautiful multi-tiered buttercream cake which rested on a bed of lush florals and took their first bite as husband and wife.

This was one of the most spectacular wedding celebrations I have ever been a part of and I feel incredibly lucky to call these two wonderful people my friends.
