Black, White & Chic All Over Wedding

Today’s Black, White & Chic All Over Wedding is dripping with gorgeousness! Almost instantly after meeting Jen for the first time, I knew we were going to become great friends. And indeed, this girl was after my heart! From fashion to home design and everything in between, we still joke that we are sisters from another mister.

To begin, Jen and Damon envisioned a chic, modern wedding infused with a touch of glamour.  So, naturally the Radisson BLU – MOA was the perfect choice to host this modern fete.  We chose a clean and modern color palette of black and white, while incorporating lots of textures and personalized elements to reflect Jen and Damon’s style and taste. Behold their stunning Black, White & Chic All Over Wedding.

Jen looked positively glamorous wearing a fitted mermaid gown with intricate lace detail and a sash heavily encrusted with crystals. Her strappy wedding heels were bedecked with crystals to compliment her jeweled belt. A beautiful hand-tied bouquet consisting of snowy hydrangea, ranunculus and delicate anemones made for the perfect accessory.  Half-up, long, wavy locks paired with a cathedral length veil completed the stunning vision.

Their black & white wedding stationery suite was a mix of modern with a stylish bold touch.

For the boutonniers a single anemone and a sprig of greenery were delicately wrapped in silk ribbon.

How’s this for heart melting, prior to seeing each other for the first time, Jen and Damon wanted to read their personal vows to one another and share a few quite moments together before the festivities began.

For the ceremony, tall glass cylinder vases with floating candles and ivory rose petals lined the aisle.  Graceful white drapery up-lit in a soft champagne tone created a stunning backdrop, and two lush floral arrangements flanked Jen and Damon as they exchange their vows.

The reception channeled a modern, chic vibe with colors of black and white, and pops of silver throughout.  Guest tables were draped in textured white linens topped with black napkins, and centerpieces featured two alternating designs of low, lush white blooms in black footed vases, or a combination of pillar candles and bud vases with single white blooms.

In contrast, the Head Table was all about the drama!  In addition to the elegant white leather tufted opera chairs that surrounded the table, Jen and Damon were nestled in their very own dramatic white dome loveseat.  A glamorous black sequin taffeta linen draped the table while two soaring and decadent floral arrangements cascaded down the vases and spilled onto the table itself.  Low arrangements consisted of bunches of florals grouped by variety – hydrangea, roses, tulips, and ranunculus – resting in silver vases of deferring heights and textures. For extra ambience, candles were woven throught the centerpieces giving each table a romantic glow.

Classic silver beaded chargers displayed white silk napkins with modern menus tucked inside.  Cut crystal stemware added the perfect bit of sparkle to the landscape and custom laser-cut names perched atop napkins acted as the perfect take-away from this chic affair.

Making her second grand entrance in another sleek mermaid gown with delicate lace appliques, Jen signaled to her groom that it was time to sample the mouth-watering dessert bar.  Modern white cake pedestals set atop a glamorous black sequin linen allowed the dessert assortment to shine.  Everything from Key Lime shooters to Blackberry French Macarons and Banana Mini Cupcakes; there was not one piece of dessert left at the end of the night.

American-Nigerian Fusion Wedding – Ada & Kay

Every once in a while, a couple so stylish comes along that you end up secretly doing the “happy dance”!  Well, that was the case for me after meeting Adannia and Kayode.  This couple was so on-point with their wedding esthetic that I could barely wait for their wedding day to come around.

Join us in reminicing over Ada & Kay’s spectacular day. As an added bonus, Ada and Kay got to double their fun by having not one but TWO weddings – a traditional cultural wedding in Nigeria and their American-Nigerian Fusion Wedding here in Minneapolis, MN.

Thank you to the extremely talented vendors who were a part of this beautiful wedding, and a special thank you to Cadence and Eli Photography for capturing this day to perfection!

Carrying a richly hued bouquet of dahlias, delicate anemones, roses and succulents, Ada was a vision of perfection in her stunning Anne Barge gown.  A floor-sweeping veil held in place by a sparkling hair pin along with shimmery Louboutin’s completed her look.  Her bridesmaids were clad in floor-length off the shoulder scarlet gowns. They each carried a smaller versions of Ada’s lush bouquet. Kay was equally striking in a custom three-piece tuxedo topped off with a black velour bowtie.  His dashing groomsmen, too, donned custom suites, pulled together with navy bowties and a pocket square.

Seeking a traditional church wedding for their big day, Ada and Kay exchanged vows at the magnificent Basilica of Saint Mary.

Following the traditional catholic ceremony, guests departed for the reception to the beautiful Carlson Towers Rotunda. Guest tables were draped with metallic herringbone linens and topped with jewel toned napkins featuring individual guest menus.  The elegant place settings also offered personalized honey jars as keepsakes of the special day.  Lush flower arrangements were purposefully kept low as to not interfere with conversation.

After the three-course dinner, Ada surprised Kay with a second, stunning form fitting strapless silk trumpet wedding gown designed by Matthew Christopher.  Making another grand entrance into the rotunda, Ada and Kay made their way to the beautiful multi-tiered buttercream cake which rested on a bed of lush florals and took their first bite as husband and wife.

Country Club Soiree – Elizabeth and Amit

With so many beautiful custom details for Elizabeth and Amit’s Country Club Soiree, it’s hard to know where to begin. However, I will gladly start with how funny these two are! Planning Elizabeth and Amit’s wedding was one of the funnest and funniest experiences this past summer.

For their wedding venue, the couple was instantly drawn to the luxurious Minikahda Club, located on the hills above Lake Calhoun in Minneapolis, MN.  Desiring a wedding that exuded love and romance, Elizabeth and Amit opted for a sophisticated yet romantic color palette of crème and taupe with pops of blush and muted gold.

Elizabeth had not only one but two pairs of Badgley Mischka shoes! The soft dusty blue ones were her something blue and both stunning peep-toe heels adorned a beautiful jeweled brooch.

A romantic custom wedding monogram was designed for the couple by the talented Katie Murphy of Katie Murphy Stationery. So many of the details throughout the wedding boasted the couples signature logo.  From there the elegant letterpress stationery suite adorned everything from the custom cigar humidor the couple used for their wedding cards, the signature bar signage, napkins and petite favor boxes. This fun accessory definitely gave their day an extra special touch!

Each of their out of town guests were greeted with a custom Welcome Box adorned with the couples’ monogram, a welcome note, some sweet and savory snacks and a mini emergency.

On the sunny afternoon of Elizabeth & Amit’s June outdoor ceremony, 200 of their closest friends and family found their seats on the Club’s croquet lawn beneath Après’ clear-span tent. The tent was draped in white billowing fabric panels and accented by thirty-five thousand white and champagne rose petals. The center aisle was delicately lined with lush floral arrangements consisting of peonies, roses and hydrangea, set atop varied height mercury glass vessels showcased on transparent columns.  Karolee and her entire creative team at Zinnia Design Floral really knocked it out for the park for this one!

Live musicians including a violinist serenaded loved ones with contemporary melodies throughout the processional. Elizabeth appeared on the arm of her father outfitted in an elegant, sophisticated gown with peplum detail and an eye catching belt heavily encrusted with pearls and crystals. Her bridal bouquet was a blend of white and crème roses and the softest of pink peonies accented with cascading vines. Bridesmaids in navy floor-length dresses carried bouquets of crème and blush roses and pink peonies as they were joined by the groomsmen dressed in sharp navy suits. After a heartfelt vow exchange and the customary breaking of the glass, the festivities reconvened inside the private venue where guests enjoyed cocktail hour with signature cocktails featuring the “Liz’s Tee-d Off” and the “Amit & Greet”, and noshed on small delectable bites.

Guests then entered the striking ballroom with crystal chandeliers creating an elegant reception.  Tables were draped in a combination of mocha satin and ivory linens topped with a delicate sheer overlay.  Monogramed menu cards were tucked into triple folded napkins wrapped around Minikahda’ s own celery-hued monogramed chargers.  An array of glass and silver mercury glass vessels held copious amounts of flowers and candles.  Three distinct but complimentary floral centerpieces graced tabletops and beautiful champagne-tone lighting by Instant Request accented the room with a romantic glow.

Following a decadent three-course sit-down dinner, guests enjoyed a delectable dessert spread by Cocoa & Fig displaying fruit & chocolate tarts, dessert shooters and even gold brushed macarons. The banquet was offered from an impressive 16-foot table display with varying cake stands showcasing each yummy bite.

Parisian Inspired Wedding – Sissy & Rich

It’s no secret that Paris is the romance capital of the world, and Sissy and Rich wanted their wedding day to be a little slice of Parisian wedding heaven for their guests to enjoy. Their romantic Parisian Inspired Wedding was held at the iconic Saint Paul Hotel, which was the perfect setting for this joyous celebration. Sumptuous fabrics and sparkling chandeliers filled the romantic ballroom as the couple said their I do’s. Sissy looked absolutely gorgeous wearing a classic pearl necklace perfectly matching her strapless Merlot hued Tara LaTour wedding gown with delicate appliques.

Just like the whimsical flower markets in Paris, flowers played a big part in this Parisian inspired fete and who better to bring this vision to life than one of the Twin Cities most premier floral artists – Russell Toscano with Wisteria Design Studio (who also happens to be my wedding floral artist, so it’s doubly awesome!).  The color palette included shades of pink, lavender & cream. Russell brought in the most beautiful and fragrant flowers which made the wedding space come alive!

The ceremony area featured a black wrought iron trellis decorated with trailing greenery and twinkling lights. Flanking the trellis were two rustic French Countryside urns filled with hydrangeas, lavender and roses.  We kept the Parisian theme going throughout the reception space. The guest tables were draped in gold damask linens and showcased a combination of lush, low arrangements filled with earl gray roses, peonies and hyacinth. Dramatic tall arrangements in sparkling glass vases with added pops of Delphinium and lilac branches flawlessly brought about the floral decor.

Taking Sissy and Rich’s love of lavender one step further, Russell included dried lavender bundles at each place setting as well as adding a sprig of organic lavender into each champagne glass. Petite Eiffel Tower place card holders were arranged in front of each place setting displaying the guests names. Their Parisian Inspired Wedding theme would not have been complete without the eight-foot wrought iron Eiffel Tower. They also included love padlocks on which guests wrote their well wishes for the couple then locked them onto the tower. This tower now permanently resides in Sissy and Rich’s backyard and serves as a beautiful reminder of their Paris inspired wedding day.

Industrial Chic Wedding – Kayla & Brian

We could not have kicked off our 2016 wedding season with a lovelier couple than Kayla and Brian and we couldn’t be happier to share with you their Industrial Chic Wedding!

These two college sweethearts wanted to set the tone for their wedding festivities in a hip and modern Minneapolis venue.  Kayla wanted something that was aesthetically pleasing while Brain wanted the space to have an industrial feel.  Upon walking in to the Solar Arts Building in the heart of Minneapolis, both knew they had to look no further.  The beautiful exposed brick walls, wood beams and abundance of natural light made Kayla and Brian fall in love instantly.

When designing the concept for the reception we decided to add contrast to the space by bringing in grey linens from Linen Effects to cover the tables, each table was then garnished with crisp white napkins that worked perfectly with the venue’s black Chiavari chairs.  Martha’s Garden’s adorned this perfect venue with lots of greenery and gorgeous flowers for additional warmth and romance.  As a focal feature behind the head table, we suspended feet upon feet of beautiful leafy garland dripping with garden roses and peonies.  A lush runner of seeded eucalyptus and loose blooms accentuated the head table and served as the perfect nestling bed for bridesmaid’s bouquets and lots and lots of ambient candlelight.  Textured silver mercury glass was used throughout our design adding just the right amount of elegance and enchantment to the space.

Of course we must mention how STUNNING Kayla looked in her Anne Barge wedding gown featuring a lace bodice, ruched cummerbund & lavish full skirt from Posh Bridal Couture. Kristi and team from Swept-Up provided on-site hair and makeup services which allowed everyone to have an easy-breezy wedding day morning. From beginning to end you can find unique touches like Brian’s Happy Socks with pink hearts, his groomsmen also sported assorted patterned Happy Socks, to their very own hashtag #SomeKeinerWonderful, to the amazing sheet music mural which just so happened to the most perfect place for a photo opp.

The images from Kayla and Brian’s wedding are AMAZING thanks to Photogen Inc!  The incredible energy that Eliesa and her team brought with them on the wedding day was contagious!

Calhoun Beach Club Indian Wedding

Priya & Brian’s Calhoun Beach Club Indian Wedding was positively extraordinary! Set at the historic Calhoun Beach Club in Minneapolis, Priya & Brian’s Hindu wedding celebrates a blending of two families in one of the most sophisticated and stylish venues’ in the Twin Cities. This beautiful September day was filled with cultural traditions, starting with Priya’s traditional wedding attire & her beautifully adorned hands. There were so many elegant details and so many heartwarming moments that will last forever. From multiple outfit changes to the choreographed Bollywood dances, this day was truly magical.

The ceremony took place under a traditional wedding Mandap draped with luxurious fabric, seating for the the couple and their parents & a pedestal for the sacred fire. A string quartet & pianist played as Priya walked down the aisle. During the ceremony Priya & Brian presented each other with delicate floral garlands representing their collective agreement to proceed with the ceremony. Such a truly amazing way to show their love for one another.

Their reception was held in the bright Solarium featuring grand barrel hanging shades trimmed with beautiful crystal beading. The spacious hall was transformed into a mesmerizing reception soiree showcasing tall gold & clear glass vases topped with lush colorful floral blooms. The bride & groom’s table was decorated with long table linens and a beautifully embroidered overlay. Each place setting displayed a lovely tone on tone dinnerware, personalized escort cards & silk napkins. Priya and Brian were such a wonderful couple to work with and we were thrilled to be able to share this special day with them.  Thank you to the incredible Cadence and Eli Photography for capturing this perfect day in the perfect way.

Love On The Lake Wedding – Molly & Joe

Today’s blog is full of beautiful details and stunning views with Molly & Joe’s Love On The Lake Wedding. Working with Molly and Joe on their outdoor tented wedding was a such a delight.  Molly always knew that when her wedding day came, it would be celebrated in the backyard of her parent’s lovely home overlooking Pine Tree Lake in Grant, MN.

The ceremony took place at the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in St. Paul, where family & friends gathered to witness their undying love.  Escorted down the aisle by her father, Molly looked positively elegant with her upswept locks and her romantic bouquet of peonies and garden roses accentuated the delicate ruching on her gown. The bridal parties bouquets featured a periwinkle silk ribbon which matched their knee length lace periwinkle dresses. Joe was dressed to the nines in a traditional tails tuxedo & white bow tie, his groomsmen mimicked his style.

Guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the multi-level patio of the bride’s parents home, lawn games were also sprinkled throughout the backyard for guests to enjoy. Under a party tent decorated with twinkling lights facing the magnificent lake front it was time to get their celebration started. When planning the design for the reception decor we utilized a color palette of petal pink and periwinkle blue to compliment the natural beauty of the property’s landscape. A breathtaking floral chandelier dripping with pink peonies and lush greenery was the focal point of the clearspan tent, placed right underneath were elongated farm tables where the wedding party dined around. A romantic lace runner spanned the length of the tables and featured delicate florals and candle light peeking out of textured mercury glass vessels.

Beautiful floral arrangements graced the reception tables draped in a combination of blush petal pink taffeta with a sheer leaf overlay and hyacinth taffeta linens. Place settings included crisp triple-folded napkins wrapped around silver-beaded glass chargers. A six tier wedding cake which featured a round design represented Molly and Joe’s marriage continuing forever and beautifully summed up the day focused on their enduring love.

During their fun bash, lead singer of The Seville’s really got the party started when she came down on the dance floor and started singing right along with the guests. You can even find Molly & her ladies up on stage really getting in on the fun!

Their wedding was such a joyous occasion & we are so happy to have been apart of it.

Classic Minneapolis Wedding

We had such a fun time helping Alissa and Kunal plan their Classic Minneapolis Wedding!

This happy couple met and began their love story in LA, where they live. However, when the time came to plan their classic wedding, the only place that made sense to them was coming back to Alissa’s hometown of Minneapolis.  They were joined by family and friends who traveled from across the country and world to spend the weekend with them. The intimate ceremony and reception was held at the elegant Woman’s Club of Minneapolis.

Alissa looked beautiful wearing a lace gown with a sash and a ballet length veil in her upswept hair. Her bridal bouquet was simply incredible featuring lush blooms of ivory & pink roses, ranunculus, peonies and dusty miller. They were the most fragrant peonies we’ve ever smelled! Kunal was dashing in his black tux and matching bow tie, his boutonniere was created using a wisp of hydrangea & dusty miller. Throughout their wedding you can find touches of purple, like Alissa’s lovely bridesmaids wearing floor length amethyst gowns & the pretty wedding stationery featuring an embossed design & purple lettering.

Martha’s Garden provided the loveliest flowers for their event. The reception tables were decorated with mercury glass vases filled with pretty pink & purple petals and green foliage, soft candlelight and classic table number cards finished the look. For their dessert they chose a sweet 2 tiered buttercream cake decorated with blush peonies.

Rochelle Louise Photography captured their Classic Minneapolis Wedding celebration perfectly and the entire day was filled with lots and lots of love, laughter & memories.
